How to do the mid-course review
How to do the mid-course review
Now that we have reached halfway through the Beginner course, is important to make sure you fully master the grammar concepts and the vocabulary learned so far, before continuing with the following six weeks as the content you will learn builds on the lessons you have done so far.
The lessons in this mid-course review have additional explanations and cheat sheets on more complicated grammar points to support you in reviewing the first 6 weeks content.
We recommend you keep to your normal study schedule and spend the same time each day review the materials in this chapter and also going back to revisit lessons that you feel you need to do a refresher on.
- Review the "first six weeks study overview" which lists the main points for each days lessons so far, if there are any areas that you don't remember clearly or that you struggled with we recommend going back and study again that lesson.
- Review all the summary "cheat sheets" in the following lessons which help give more context and also act as a refresher for the more complicated grammar points, it is also a good idea to print them and keep them close by when you are studying.
- Review of each days vocabulary, and make sure you know all of the words so far in the course. You can find the course vocabulary index here.
- Go to our Show Us / Flipgrid and leave the videos you haven't made yet (if any), so the teachers can review them. By the end of this review week, you should have answered to all the Show Us / Flipgrid lessons up to day 30. You can find a list of Show Us / Flipgrid lessons here. Password is GGNnek0#
Remember you can also always go to the student community and ask for more help with anything you have questions!
If there is any specific topic(s) that you are still struggling to understand you can choose to have an Add on lesson. An add-on lesson is a one on one private Japanese Language lesson with Soejima sensei. Each one to one private session lasts 20-minutes and you can use the time to cover any of the material you have learned so far or just practice your pronunciation.
Book your session here.
Repetition and practice is very important when learning a foreign language, so please spend this week productively!
